Recreational Class Gymnastics enhances many aspects of athlete’s developmental stages. Teaching from an “athlete’s view” is a priority at Uzelac Gymnastics.

Gymnastics concepts, skills and movement are taught to the athlete in a safe, fun filled, environment.  The classes are designed to enhance skill development at the athlete’s individual pace.  We recognize the need to let the athlete progress at there own developmental rate.

Each athlete is treated individually based on his or her own needs.  Goals are achieved through the athletes own individual progress.  Be encouraged with your athlete’s progress; what may seem like a tiny progression is a HUGE progression in their eyes.

All our coaches are USAG safety certified.  All lesson plans are designed and based on USAG standards

Our Red, White, & Blue are all part of our Recreational Class Gymnastics program. The goals of these programs are to build confidence, coordination and self esteem while increasing progression skills in the fundamentals of gymnastics. An on-going process of skill development is emphasized on all of the apparatus.  A multitude of apparatus is used to aid in the safe learning of skill sets as higher level skills are achieved!

Each level has certain criteria of accomplishment before an athlete is elevated to the next level.  This criterion assures the athlete of progression at their abilities and pace and not the groups!

Private Lessons are offered at an additional fee. All private lessons must be scheduled with the front office only!  Please ask our office staff for more details

Class Time Structure

1.  Before Class Starts!
Parents are ask to have your athletes in the facility at least 10 min prior to class start time, to give them a chance to change attire and to prepare for class. This eliminates the interruption of others athletes in the class after it has started (Before Class)

2.  Roll Call Time
Athletes are introduced to their peers and instructor.  This encourages athletes to interact in a social setting. If your child is late, make sure they check in at the office before they join the class.

3.  Warm Up Circuit
Instructors utilize specifically designed, warm up activities to develop large muscle groups (running, jumping, aerobic, etc).

4.  Stretching
Instructors utilize specifically designed, stretching activities to develop smaller muscle groups to enhance flexibility.

5.  Main Circuit
Athletes work at the same time but at different stations.  More difficult skills are spotted (aided by a coach) and others are independent stations.  This is done to help the athlete with sequential learning, memory development, and retention.  During this time a new skill may be introduced by the coach.

7.  Cool Down
The athlete have “cool down time” with their instructor to relax muscles and to talk about new skills and reinforce previously attained skills.
